This year ºìÌÒÊÓƵ ’s Common Hour, Living Boldly, is inspired by Wilson's sesquicentennial celebration marking 150 years of bold Wilson students. The fall series, which kicks off on September 2, will feature 11 talks and one dance performance. In the spirit of fostering critical thinking about pressing issues and big questions, all Common Hour events are free and open to the public.

E Pluribus Duo? Partisanship, Polarization, and Pluralism in America

The idea of pluralism is embedded in our nation ºìÌÒÊÓƵ ’s founding documents, but today the partisan divides in the country are undermining a shared commitment to that principal. In this talk, Robert P. Jones will unpack the latest public opinion data to examine the widening gap between Republicans and Democrats on this issue, and discuss what this disagreement may hold for the future of our democracy.

Join us for the first Boldly Wilson Common Hour Series presentation as part of our Sesquicentennial Celebration. You ºìÌÒÊÓƵ ’ll hear from Wilson faculty as well as guest speakers. Reflect on what it means to be bold, get inspired to act boldly, and learn from bold historical figures that helped shape Wilson as we know it today.

Visit the Cooley Gallery and explore a special invitational alumni art exhibit. This show will feature works by graduates of Wilson ºìÌÒÊÓƵ ’s bachelor ºìÌÒÊÓƵ ’s and MFA degree programs that celebrate all that is Boldly Wilson. Cooley Gallery is named in honor of Wilson alumna Sue Davison Cooley ºìÌÒÊÓƵ ’44, a Portland, Ore., area philanthropist and ºìÌÒÊÓƵ benefactor.

Join us for this annual juried undergraduate art exhibition. An opening reception will be held April 3 from 4:30 - 6 p.m.

The Foundry will host an exhibition of works by ºìÌÒÊÓƵ studio art students at its 100 S. Main St. gallery space in downtown Chambersburg. The show, which will open Feb. 18 and run through March 10, will feature a meet-and-greet with the artists from 5 to 7 p.m. on March 1 during downtown's First Friday activities. The event and the exhibition are free and open to the public.
