Upon completion of their program curricula, students who complete a major in English Literary Studies Concentration will be able to demonstrate that they are:

Upon completion of their program curricula, students who complete a major in English Creative Writing Concentration will be able to:

Persuasive Writers ºìÌÒÊÓƵ – demonstrate their awareness of:

• purpose in writing,
• audience,
• level,
• tone,
• structure, and
• use of supporting detail.

Accomplished Creative Writers- demonstrate their mastery of one creative genre, including the genre ºìÌÒÊÓƵ ’s: 

• conventions,
• structure, and 
• components.

English Concentration in Journalism and Media Writing ºìÌÒÊÓƵ – Program Learning Goals

Upon completion of their program curricula, students who complete a major in English Concentration in Journalism and Media Writing will be able to demonstrate they:

• are able to compose text in a variety of common media genres,
• understand the conventions of common print and online media styles, and
• are clear, consistent, and capable writers.
