Mindy Guinard, Ed.D., earned her BSN from Cedar Crest College, her MSN from York College, and her Ed.D. from Northeastern University. Her clinical interests include emergency, medical-surgical, and post-operative care. She enjoys working with students at all levels and, as Program Director of Nursing, Exercise, and Health Sciences, teaches a variety of courses across content areas. Her research focuses on how students learn and strategies to help them overcome challenges in understanding complex material.

Jennifer Buffenbarger, Ed.D., originally from Wales, United Kingdom, brings a deep passion for nursing ������Ƶ —one that has guided her for over 30 years. Early in her journey, she told her instructors, ������Ƶ “I eventually want to give back what was once given to me. ������Ƶ ”

After earning her Master of Science in Nursing (Nursing Education) and a Doctorate in Education (Higher Education and Adult Learning), Buffenbarger transitioned into academia, where she now teaches across both undergraduate and graduate programs. Her courses include Health Assessment, Nursing Fundamentals, Mental Health Nursing, Population-Focused Care, and Chronic Illness. She also leads the final Master ������Ƶ ’s Project course and teaches interdisciplinary subjects such as holistic health, health promotion and program development, and first-year seminars.

In recent years, Buffenbarger has increasingly focused on mental health nursing. She developed a 10-week evolving case study that simulates the lived experiences of individuals with mental illness. This innovative approach promotes empathy and enhances students ������Ƶ ’ therapeutic communication skills.

Fulfilling her long-standing promise to give back, Buffenbarger now offers her students the same compassion she once extended to her patients. For her, the role of educator is just as rewarding as being a nurse ������Ƶ —both grounded in the intentional act of caring. 

Pamela Hollenbach, RN, MS, DNP

Pam Hollenbach, RN, MS, DNP, has been a dedicated nursing faculty member since 2007. She currently serves as the coordinator of online nursing programs at ������Ƶ, overseeing the online MSN, RN-BSN, and the LPN/BSN tracks. Hollenbach holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from York College of Pennsylvania, a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Chatham University, Pittsburgh.  

With 38 years of nursing experience, her clinical background spans medical-surgical care, home health, and women ������Ƶ ’s health ������Ƶ —her primary area of specialization.  

Her past publications include research on ������Ƶ “Simulation and Its Effect on Anxiety in Baccalaureate Nursing Students ������Ƶ ” published in the Nursing Education Perspectives journal (2016), and a clinical article titled "Management of the Pregnant Patient with a Spinal Cord Injury ������Ƶ ” published in the Journal of Neuroscience Nursing (2020). 

Kimberly Erwin, MSN, RN, CCRN

Kimberly Erwin ������Ƶ ’22 MSN, RN, CCRN, ������Ƶ  has served as the simulation and clinical coordinator and instructor for the Nursing Program at ������Ƶ since 2020. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from ������Ƶ in 2022, following a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she also completed a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Nursing at West Virginia University.

Erwin teaches a wide range of courses within the nursing curriculum, including Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Pharmacology, Adult Complex Care, and Research in Healthcare. She brings a rich clinical background to the classroom, drawing from her experience as a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit nurse and Critical-Care Transport nurse at the University of Maryland Medical Center and the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at UMMC. Her clinical insights help bridge the gap between theory and practice, enriching the learning experience for her students.

Her current research focuses on developing an intervention aimed at addressing incivility in both nursing education and clinical practice. Her work also seeks to enhance the professional quality of life for nursing students as they transition into the workforce.

Ginger Peterson, DPN, RN, CNE, NPD-BC, is an assistant professor of nursing at ������Ƶ, where she has been teaching since 2020. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in educational leadership from the American Sentinel College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Post University, a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on nurse education from Walden University, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Pensacola Christian College.

Specializing in nursing education, Peterson brings extensive teaching experience across a wide variety of courses, including Pharmacology, Pathophysiology, Genetics, Fundamentals of Nursing Practice, Nursing Care for Chronically Ill and Medical/Surgical Patients, and Complex Care Across the Lifespan. She has also taught a graduate-level course on Outcomes and Program Evaluation.

Her research interests center on nursing education and simulation. She has presented on topics such as "The Impact of a Medication Administration Simulation on Self-Efficacy" and "A Collaborative Approach to Human Trafficking Education," reflecting her commitment to innovative and socially responsive teaching practices.  

Peterson is actively involved in professional organizations, including the National League of Nursing and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, Omega Eta chapter.

Sherri Stahl ������Ƶ ’25 M.S.N., RN, MHA, NEA-BC, is a seasoned nurse educator and former senior healthcare executive with a distinguished career spanning over 35 years in acute critical care, nursing leadership, and education. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Messiah University, a Master of Health Administration from the University of Phoenix, and a Master of Science in Nursing from ������Ƶ. In her role at Wilson, Stahl brings a unique blend of clinical insight, operational expertise, and academic rigor to her work as an instructor of nursing.

Before transitioning into academia, Stahl held several high-impact leadership positions, including director of nursing, chief nursing officer, and senior vice president of a regional health system. In these roles, she led large, interdisciplinary teams, spearheaded system-wide quality improvement initiatives, and championed strategic planning efforts that enhanced patient outcomes and organizational performance.

Board-certified as a Nurse Executive Advanced (NEA-BC), Stahl is recognized for her visionary leadership, commitment to excellence, and dedication to mentoring emerging nurse leaders. Her leadership philosophy centers on collaboration, innovation, and the continuous pursuit of excellence in patient care.

Now serving as a nurse educator, Stahl is passionate about preparing the next generation of nurses to lead with confidence and compassion. She integrates her extensive leadership experience into the classroom, offering students a real-world perspective on healthcare systems, policy, and professional development. Her mission is to inspire future nurses to think critically, lead ethically, and advocate for meaningful change in healthcare.
