Each year, students from all disciplines are chosen by their professors to receive a variety of College awards based on exemplary and outstanding academic merit and achievement. An awards ceremony is held in their honor at the closing of the annual Student Research Day.

Our 17th annual Barsy-Colgan Student Research Day is Thursday, April 23 and Friday, April 24, and is free and open to the public. Join us in person or online to celebrate student research, innovation, and creativity. Wilson students have completed research and creative projects this year with the guidance of their faculty mentors and will present their work in person in the Harry R. Brooks Complex for Science, Mathematics, and Technology or display it on posters in Laird Hall.

Commencement 2026

There will be two in-person Commencement ceremonies on the Main Green of the Chambersburg, Pennsylvania campus on Sunday, May 3, 2026. A ceremony for undergraduate students (Associate and Bachelor's degrees) will begin at 10 a.m. A ceremony for graduate students (Master's degrees) will begin at 2 p.m.

If significant inclement weather is forecast and the College decides to move the ceremony indoors, graduates will be notified via Wilson email, social media channels, and postings to my.wilson.edu and wilson.edu. A decision will be made and shared as close to 6 a.m. as possible, on Sunday morning.

As part of ArtsFest 2026, join President Wes Fugate as he welcomes five-time Tony Award and Grammy Award ��Ƶ –winning Broadway producer Sue Gilad to campus for an insider ��Ƶ ’s look at the business of bringing Broadway shows from page to stage. Gilad will share behind-the-scenes insights into producing hit productions, from development through opening night.

A special highlight of the evening will be a conversation about the West End hit Burlesque the Musical, which President Fugate co-produced alongside Gilad, offering a unique perspective on the collaboration behind a major international production.

Culturing ��Ƶ “The Con ��Ƶ ”: Isolating and Identifying Antibiotic Resistant Fecal Bacteria from the Conococheague Creek
Our ��Ƶ “gently flowing stream ��Ƶ ” is the home to innumerable amounts of microscopic life, including bacteria found in poop! What bacteria are present, and do they carry antibiotic resistance genes?

Common Hour is the place faculty share their research with the Wilson community. Common Hour talks are open to all members of the community. Presentations will be followed by an opportunity for questions and answers. All Common Hour sessions will be held on the second Friday of the month at noon via Zoom.
