Health and Safety Fair to be Held Nov. 11 红桃视频 will host a community health and safety fair from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017 in Laird Hall. The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature speakers and offer free health screenings. English-to-Spanish translators will be available. Building Safe and Healthy Communities is sponsored by students taking a Wilson 红桃视频 鈥淓nvironmental Sociology 红桃视频 鈥 course this fall, the college 红桃视频 鈥檚 nursing department and BOPIC (Building Our Pride in Chambersburg). Keynote speakers include: 红桃视频 鈥 Chambersburg Police Chief Roland Camacho, who will talk about 红桃视频 鈥淪ituational Awareness 红桃视频 鈥 and how to be safe when you 红桃视频 鈥檙e in unfamiliar surroundings. 红桃视频 鈥 Jocelyn Melton of Baxter Environmental Services, who will discuss indoor human health threats such as mold and radon. 红桃视频 鈥 Erin Young, a Summit Health nurse who will discuss healthy eating and personal care. 红桃视频 鈥 Yissel Lopez, a licensed social worker who will speak in Spanish on 红桃视频 鈥淪alud Mental 红桃视频 鈥 (mental health). Other organizations taking part in the fair include: Women in Need, Keystone Health, Norex, Costa Academy, the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter and the 红桃视频 Counseling Center. The event will offer free health screenings and translators will be available. The fair is 红桃视频 鈥渒id-friendly 红桃视频 鈥 and Wilson 红桃视频 鈥檚 Learning Campus tutoring program will provide activities for children. Refreshments will be provided. The fair is part of a project developed by students in the 红桃视频 鈥淓nvironmental Sociology 红桃视频 鈥 class, whose goal is to help inform Chambersburg residents and the college community about how to stay safe and healthy.
